FUEL Student Ministry in Saint Joseph, MO. What is the purpose of a FUEL Card…well watch this video and find out.
Duration : 0:1:17
I heard coast as much as you can. And also accelerating to fast can rob gas millage. So, what some other tips people can use to save money at the pumps instead of buying a new car and what not?
The best one I know is to combine your trips. Example…If you want to go to three stores this week, don’t go to one on Monday and another on Tuesday and another on Wednesday. Make a loop to all three in one trip.
When you’re actually driving, though…the most important thing is to be safe. Don’t think so much about fuel economy that you’re driving less safely.
.
I was offered a new job and the company have two options in regards to transportation. Firstly, a fully maintained company car with fuel card or 16k allowance with fuel card. The job require me to drive from syd to canberra and back frequently and the rest of the time i would be driving around NSW and would easily do 80Km a day.
so which would be a better option for me?
It all depends what the "fully maintained company car" looks like. I suggest you simply go look at it, if you like it and it isn’t beaten on, then the company car maybe a good option.
I would rather spend the 16k with the fuel card, however for my own car. 16k can find you some fairly good used, and some alright new cars out there, and I would personally rather have my own car then drive the companies car. It all depends however on your financial situation, if you think you can pay for maintenance and all other expenses associated with buying your own car, then I’d say go for it, just make sure you get a good car. If you’d rather be a little bit less self independent, and you don’t believe you can manage the vehicles payments, then go for the company car. I can’t tell you which one is better, as I don’t know your financial situation, and it’s none of my business in the first place.
However, if you can maintain your own car, I’d encourage you to go for the 16k allowance. I wish you good luck!
Has anyone had good results with any of the new gas saving devices, such as the Cyclone ?? I have read about some new devices that are easily installed and will bump up gas mileage, sounds too good to be true.
And so it is. The only thing any of these devices do for you is flatten your wallet. Can you spell scam? Gas saving add ons have come and gone for as long as I’ve been around. Mechanics Illustrated tested a hand full of them several years ago. They tested them singly, in pairs and all together. They declared them all worthless. They said that, if the devices had worked as advertised, the cumulative savings would have allowed them to drive forever without refilling the tank. However their gas mileage didn’t improve and in some instances decreased, with the devices installed.
It is just a small card you get when you inprocess (you can fit it in your wallet) and it has months marked on it. You are only allowed to get a certain amount of gas per month. Every time you fill up, the cashier marks on the card how many gallons of gas you got. Once you reach your limit for that month, you can’t get any more. You will also get a ration card for tobacco products and coffee.
